Bone dry, white fruit, flowers and green apple with sublime minerality. Medium bodied texture with a fresh and complex finnish.
Established since 2008, Tanguy Perrault and Anne-Cécile Jadaud, this young couple full of energy own 2.5 hectares of vines spread over three locations. Anne-Cécile teaches oenology at the wine school in Amboise and Tanguy with an oenology degree and Master of Philosophy says “My wife is the head, I’m the hands!”. Tanguy’s career started with a job in Bordeaux working in the vineyard and then as a cellar master for a famous domain in Vouvray. His determination pushed him to settle his own estate, and especially after a reflection of his boss who told him in substance: “You’ll never work for anyone!” Taking this to a sentence or a fatality, it was the beginning of a new adventure. Tanguy and Anne-Cecile’s work is meticulous, even difficult due to some vineyards in terrace. They managed to recently aquire a new vineyard, planted in 1961. Their production is made of a dry and off dry style and some fine bubbles under the ancestral method. All wines are aged in old barrels, including their sparkling wines. There is a traditional aspect in their work and even if they are not fundamentalists “organic” they argue that choice, because it is the easiest way to grow while keeping a distrust copper treatments. Yields never exceed 30 hectoliters per hectare in the best years.

Cosse Maisonneuve Solis Cahors 2018 FranceCosse Maisonneuve Solis Cahors 2018
Approachable and fruity, with notes of blueberry and violet and a soft, supple texture. A solid wine with depth, presence, silky tannins, and a refreshing herbal finish, that is typical of high quality Malbec.
Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve are making some outstanding wines in Cahors – very elegant, precise and lifted with a wonderful drinkability. No new oak is used in the ‘elevage’, only old barrels of several wines. With his experience in the cooperative cellar in the South West of France Matthieu settled on his own with Catherine who was straight out of the famous Chateau Leovillle Las Cases (Bordeaux) and produced their first vintage together in 1999 from a small plot of 5 ha they managed in “fermage”. They are now the owners of 28 ha in Prayssac, near Cahors.
Very quickly they decided to follow biodynamic practices and they set out to make wines that genuinely reflected their place of origin. The vines are spread over 2 different types of soil, and each plot is vinified separately. The first terroir is on clay and limestone (“the plateau”) gives structured wines made with an ageing potential. The second, in Prayssac, in the valley, produces wines that are more fleshy, supple and fruity (“the terraces”). The soils are worked and the vines treated in a homeopathic way. The harvest is done by hand, Mathieu and Catherine carefully sort out the quality of the bunches that will be destemmed. Weather conditions and low yields provide a natural balance (thick skin and little juice). The vinification starts with indigenous yeasts. Vatting is long, with no remontage and filtration is non-existent.

Pascal Reverdy’s domaine is based in the tiny hamlet of Maimbray. Maimbray is located in a valley surrounded by chalk hills adjacent to Chavignol and Verdigny. From their small cellar they produce one of France’s most highly awarded Sancerres. The Reverdy’s are highly accomplished viticulturists. They take great pride in their vineyards and they make it clear that the quality of the fruit comes from constant work and attention to every little detail in the vineyard throughout the year. The white Sancerre ‘Terre de Maimbray’ is picked at approximately 13° baumé and shows wonderful concentration of pure Sauvignon Blanc fruit, with chalky mineral flavours adding another dimension.

Smashable, medium bodied, skin contact Trebbiano from Tuscany.
The farm started back in 1978 when a group of people rescued abandoned land from expropriation. With the help of goats, they began by clearing all the bushes and weeds from the fields. Slowly, year after year, they began to plant seeds. First focusing on cereals and legumes, and then eventually moving into beekeeping and vines.
“Since 1989 we have cultivated and preserved our land following the principles of biodynamic agriculture. We produce natural wines that are an expression of the terrior and year of production. Our wines are not dictated by the current trends or market demands but are a reflection of the bounty that nature has offered. Our approach is driven by love, passion and respect, observing and processing with little iterference, the transformation of our grapes into wine.”

Delightful sun-drenched hay and crunchy pear aroma, discreet acidity and ripe stone fruit mouthfeel confirm the pedigree of the region. A blend across local vineyards creates a broader nose and a soft fuller palate.

Atlas The Spaniard 2020 South Australia Clare ValleyAtlas The Spaniard 2020
A blend of Tempranillo, Grenache and Mataro. This bright, spicy and textural wine is made from grape varieties of Spanish origin grown in vineyards in three of South Australias premium wine growing regions. That’s why we call it “The Spaniard”.
Where do we begin?
We could start the Atlas story in any number of places. At one of Adam Barton’s formative winemaking jobs, in McLaren Vale, Coonawarra, the Barossa, Western Australia, the South of France or California’s Central Coast. Before that, at the University of Adelaide, where he studied oenology. Or in the Hunter Valley, where he first discovered the magic of wine, in a glass of 1965 Lindemans Hunter River Burgundy.
We could go back even earlier, to Amy Lane’s childhood in the South Australian Mid North, on the arid, sandy paddocks that have been farmed by her family for generations.
But where Atlas began in earnest is on a 26-acre block of land, a vineyard planted with Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, on the eastern slopes of the Clare Valley. The year was 2007. Adam and Amy made an investment in Clare, an investment in their future, and Atlas Wines was born.

Ministry Of Clouds Shiraz 2021 South Australia McLaren ValeMinistry Of Clouds Shiraz 2021
Born of one of the most ancient and geologically diverse wine regions in the world, McLaren Vale, this wine is made from Australia’s most ubiquitous grape – Shiraz. With the aim that this Shiraz reflects our view of the region, we combine fruit from 2 Blewitt Springs deep sandy vineyards, and a younger more structured and fragrant parcel from the shallow old bedrock of our own Onkaparinga Rocks vineyard in the hope of a more modern, slender and youthful expression.
An exercise in slender power, bringing early picked McLaren Vale Shiraz characters exhibited by cool blue and red fruit with layers of coal dust and earth to entice, supported by a gentle oak creaminess, which progresses to the palate exhibiting a deep fruit weight kept bright, nervy, and fleshy and filed down nicely by a fine and mineral tannin line.
Ideal serving temperature is 16 °C… God forbid a Shiraz that won’t dominate all food placed before it. Try with spicy Catalan Fish Stew with grilled rye and aioli. Cool cellaring between 5 years to 8 years will be rewarded.

Domaine Singla Mataro 2010 FranceDomaine Singla Mataro 2010 – The Singla are part of these very old families from the south of France, proud of their origins and “rooted” in their Mediterranean lands. Native to the Cévennes, the Singla took a very active part, on the Protestant side, during the wars of religion. A Singla was even in command of the Protestant party during the siege of Béziers. When the Edict of Nantes was revoked, the Singla lost their titles and… their domains. They then decide to “remake” a situation by working hard. Around 1760, Michel Singla left Béziers for Roussillon where, with his children, he developed a trade in wine between Spain and Africa. The trade being fruitful, the Singla properties were born in Roussillon. The family settled in Rivesaltes operating a very large 250 hectare vineyard in the Agly Valley.

Straw in colour with a slight bronze tinge, the nose opens with lively aromas of pear and green apple, with floral scents of rosewater and honeysuckle together with spicy notes. The textural mid-palate displays delicate nectarine and biscuit flavours that flow into a crisp, almost spicy pear and apple skin finish.
Quartier means neighbourhood in French and the Quartier varietals are a celebration of diverse terroirs on the Mornington Peninsula. The fruit for this wine is sourced from a neighbouring vineyard in Balnarring. The fruit was whole bunch pressed and fermentation commenced spontaneously with ambient yeasts in entirely old French oak barriques. Once dry, the wine was left sur lie for several months prior to bottling. The wine was bottled without fining and with minimal filtration.

This understanding comes as a result of working as a winemaker with some of our regions most respected wineries, and numerous overseas vintages in a number of countries; always watching, always learning, and always challenging even our own winemaking approach. Our wines are at once rich, polished, and structured for longevity, but with a brightness of fruit that invites early drinking.
