Badarina is the symbolic vineyard of our family. It is the expression of the power and minerality that characterize the terroir of Serralunga d’Alba. Here, a unique microclimate and terroir require more time for the Nebbiolo to ripe. The resulting wine is a Barolo of extraordinary complexity which is distinguished by the intensity of the aromas and the great structure. Ethereal bouquet, with red fruits, raspberries, herbs, balsamic hints that emerge with aging. Important tannins, freshness and minerality, for a Barolo of energy that improves over time. Food pairing: rich dishes such as mains with meat, game, stew and matured cheese.
Bruna Grimaldi and her husband Franco manage their 15 hectares of vineyards, which are spread in various plots across the Langhe area. The fragmentation of the vineyards is one of the strengths of the business because it allows them to offer high quality from the different terroirs that make up the Langhe where microclimates, soils and exposures convey important and unique characteristics to the wines. Vineyard maintenance is highly manual and organic cultivation is used, keeping yields low. In the winery, selection of grapes is meticulous, and very low levels of sulphites are used at bottling.

Barolo enchants for its elegance and pleasantness, with spiced and velvety aromas which are really captivating for the nose and palate and that leave a long gustatory persistence. In the glass it shows with a clear ruby red color when young, with garnet reflections if aged. Scents of violet, “goudron” and truffle can be perceived.
On the palate the sensations are various: we find ourselves in front of a full-bodied, classic, structured wine, which will be aged for many years and represents in an extraordinary way the important character of the Langhe area.
The noble tannins characteristic of this wine improve after some years of refinement in the bottle.
Following their father’s loss and the consequent division of his winery, Marco and his sister Micaela founded the winery Marco Bonfante srl in 2000. “Our family produces wines in Piedmont, precisely in Nizza Monferrato since 8 generations, so much time that the hill which saw our ancestors grow up, took the name Bonfante.” Marco is the winemaker and he looks after the production and the sales, while Micaela takes care of the administration of the company.

Ruby red colour with garner reflections. The flavour is fruity and floral, with scents of plums and violets, and recognizable raspberry and rose undertones. An elegant and well-balanced wine, with a full-body structure, and a long-lasting after taste.
History Of Rocche Costamagna
On May 15, 1841 , the Police Office of the Royal Military Command of the city and province of Alba granted Luigi Costamagna, son of Francesco Antonio, the permit “for retail wine trade […] for the wine produced from the grapes of his vineyards “in La Morra.
In 1911 , Francesco and his son Riccardo won the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition Grand Prix in Turin , for presenting fifty years of uninterrupted production. After Francesco’s death, his son Riccardo , a lawyer in Turin and Alba, continued to manage the company with the help of his wife Maddalena. In the 1930s, after Riccardo’s death, Maddalena sold the properties outside of La Morra, but not the vineyards located in the Rocche dell’Annunziata . We limited ourselves to making wine for the needs of the family, and most of the grapes were sold. At the end of the sixties, the granddaughter Claudia Ferraresi , together with her husband Giorgio Locatelli , took over the reins of the family business, alongside the profession of painter with that of a wine entrepreneur.
The winemaking activity is increased with the planting of new vineyards and the restoration of the historic cellars is slowly beginning. Since the mid-eighties, the young Alessandro Locatelli has dealt with every aspect of management. Significantly improves the management of vineyards and winemaking, takes care of sales by expanding the sales network to the four continents.
