Gustavo Martinez Kilako Moscatel 2018
Floral, apples and candied citrus. This is a juicy skin contact wine with a herbal texture.
100% Moscatel from Quilaco in Florida, where Moscatel is Queen accounting for about 85% of total vineyard plantings. These grapes come from a single hectare of 25 year old vines from a husband and wife growing team in the coastal range at about 350m of altitude. The grapes are destemmed and go through a 2 week fermentation and one additional week of skin maceration before pressing into stainless steel for about 2 months. Then it sees 3-4 months in French oak before another rest in stainless and finally bottled. Unfined, unfiltered, low sulfur addition at bottling. 1,500 bottles produced.
Pedro Parra Imaginador Cinsault 2017Pedro Parra Imaginador Cinsault 2017
Pedro Parra Imaginador Cinsault 2017. Winemaker Pedro Parra makes wines that he likes to drink: terroir-focused, with a hands-off approach in the vineyard and cellar. The granite soils and cool coastal winds keep the wines fresh with a fine mineral streak. This Cinsault shows lovely floral aromas and silky red fruit on the palate. A great find from Chile.
