100% estate grown Chardonnay from one of the highest and coolest vineyards in South Australia. Barrel fermented in a mix of new and seasoned French oak using natural yeast and allowed to develop over 12 months prior to bottling Apple blossom, yellow peach and gentle baking spices in a mouth filling yet gentle delivery on the palate. Drinking wonderfully now, with strong ageing potential over the next 5-7 years.
Brian Anderson, and his son Ben, purchased 32 acres of land in Lenswood, Adelaide Hills in 1994 and developed it into a vineyard. The family focuses on producing high quality wine grapes and premium wines. Since Brian’s passing, Ben and his wife Clare have continued to run the family business.
Ben spends the majority of his time in the vineyard looking after our vines and making sure the grapes are growing well. If you can’t find him in amongst the vines, there’s a good chance he is working with our winemaker in the winery, meeting with our business partners locally or overseas or just hiding somewhere with a glass of our award-winning Pinot Noir!
Clare is the artist in the family. As a previous art school student, she loves gardening, pottery, and drawing things that inspire her. She is the one who draws our beloved A Series labels every vintage. Most of the time, you will meet her when you come to our cellar door for some wine tasting or a relaxing lunch as she also runs our cellar door restaurant. Clare is the best person to talk with if you want to know about things like the local flowers and birds, the best photo spots around Fox Creek trail and where to go in the Adelaide Hills to find great local produce.

A bright clear ruby in the glass deceives you into thinking this is a light and delicate wine. Our very cool climate vineyards impart a deep savoury tone to our Pinot Noir which delivers in spades in this vintage. Fresh raspberry and strawberry fruits in a marshmallow like implied sweetness set the stage before the deep savoury notes of forest floor and pine mushrooms come through for the lingering finish.

This Grenache is produced from two 100+ year old vineyards from the renowned Barossa Valley.
The Vincent offers inviting aromas of rich fruit and white pepper. The palate is generous with intense true varietal characteristics. It’s delicately rounded and generous. A superb Grenache that has a lingering finish. A wine that can be enjoyed now, or well into the future.

In 2020 our crop was damaged by the smoke from the bushfires and we were unable to harvest any grapes. We contacted friends from wine regions around Australia and were able to track down this parcel of Mataro in South Australia’s Renmark area.
This dry Rosé is pale pink in colour, with red fruits, savoury herbs and floral aromas. These delicate flavours make this rosé the perfect accompaniment for a warm afternoon.
The Four Winds Story began with a miner and his wife who lived on the property in a slab-hut. Her name was Scheherazade, after the story telling character in The Arabian Nights. Her favourite story described a magic carpet being borne by the four winds of good fortune. She named this small farm in Murrumbateman ‘Four Winds’ in the hope it would carry their good fortunes.

Cabernet Sauvignon grows in ideal conditions on the Hickinbotham Vineyard thanks to the combined influence of elevation, aspect, prevailing winds, weather and ancient soils. The ability to consistently retain expressive and fragrant aromas and obtain deep tannin ripeness with concentrated fresh flavors makes Trueman one of the estate’s most highly regarded wines. Violet, blueberry, purple olive and cedar aromas lead to rich blueberry, blackberry and plum flavors. Tannins are long and layered, delivering exceptional depth of flavour and a long, seamless impression that ages very well.

Winemaking and Viticulture
The grapes were picked at between 13.5 to 14.0 Baume to
produce the fruit flavours that are required to make this great
wine. The grapes were fermented in a mixture of vessels to
produce as much colour and flavour as possible. Portion of the
wine underwent oak during fermentation and once dry, the
remaining went to oak until the right balance was achieved.
Careful tasting and blending, by our winemaker, help produce
this wine of style and great value for money.
Tasting Comments
Intense red with purple hues. Fresh, complex cassis and mint
fruit flavours with some well integrated vanillin oak . Full bodied
with dense ripe cassis fruit flavours balanced with vanillin oak
but yet long and smooth. Try with chargrilled sirloin or a hearty
minestrone. This wine has the flavour, structure and balance to
be enjoyed now or offers added satisfaction from further
cellaring.
