Dutschke 22 Year Old TawnyDutschke 22 Year Old Tawny
Dutschke 22 Year Old Tawny. “The 22 Year Old Tawny” is our blend of some fantastic individual components. Over recent years we have put together a Solera of old fortified wines, allowing us to bottle a small volume of some consistently good stuff each year. The blend is made up of a long list of varieties including Verdelho, Grenache, Shiraz, Touriga, White Muscat, Pedro and Palomino. Some of these components date back over 40 years, and are responsible for adding the lusciousness and the distinctive “rancio” (butterscotch) characters we find in this wine. There’s plenty of rich, rancio, butterscotch flavours, fine drying oak tannins and a warm alcohol finish, resulting in a complex length of flavour.
Each of these individual fortified wines have been left to rest, maturing in oak barrels untouched for many years. Our job has been simply to put the blend together to generate this wonderful combination of flavours.
Truly great stuff! Enjoy anytime with good friends.

Dutschke Bourbon Barrel 10 Year Old Tawny
I have great memories of many years ago filling Tawny into used
whiskey barrels that had been imported straight from distilleries in
the USA. As the Tawny went in, wonderfully rich whiskey aromas
filled the air and when revisiting these barrels some time later, the
old Tawny inside showed the distinct flavours of the spirit that had
originally been in those casks. Added to that were the typical,
beautifully aged rancio Tawny characters you’d expect to taste.
Some years ago we decided to relive this memory by importing a
number of used Bourbon barrels from Kentucky, USA, and filling
these with a special Tawny. These barrels have made a home in
our dusty fortified shed and are maturing gracefully.
Here’s the result!

Fonseca Tawny Port NV PortugalFonseca Tawny Port NV Portugal
Fonseca Tawny Port N.V is wonderfully rich, concentrated Port with great flavour and texture. It has an opulent black fruit nose which is followed through on the palate showing layers of intense berry, plum and cherry fruit flavours supported by firm, but well integrated tannins. This is a deliciously textured Port wine, which is velvety, smooth, succulent and plump.
