Domaine Roger Champault Les Clos du Roy Sancerre 2017 Loire Valley
$43.95
The vineyard is located in an old wine grower’s village named Chambetin (later to become Champtin), in the south of the village of Sancerre. There, vines reign on every hill.
Research goes back until François Champault around 1850 then to his son, Stanislas Champault, around 1900.
Roger Champault is the 5th generation in this family business. When he took over the estate, he only owned 2 hectares. Little by little, the estate grew thanks to the new land that was bought and therefore the new vines that were planted. He also modernized the viticultural and winegrowing facilities and put in thermoregulated tanks in the cellar.
At first, the bouquet is discreet. Then it opens on aromas of white fruits. The mouth is ample and perfumed. Enjoy as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to fish and selfish or white meats and cheeses.
