Laurent Perrier Ultra Brut expresses the quintessential character of champagne and was known as a “Great Wine without sugar”.

Launched in 1981, Laurent-Perrier Ultra Brut is a true illustration of the House’s know-how.

Blending and Wine Making:

55% Chardonnay
45% Pinot Noir

One or two reserve wines from a complementary year are blended in Laurent Perrier Ultra Brut with around 15 cru wines used in the composition.

Laurent Perrier Ultra Brut has zero dosage – the bunches of grapes are rigorously selected to ensure that only grapes with high sugar levels and low acidity are retained. These conditions are necessary to create a finished champagne that has the required balance without any dosage.

Ideally this Champagne should be aged for a minimum of 6 years.

Tasting Notes:

Very pale, crystal-bright in colour.

Intense and complex on the nose with a wide range of aromas including citrus and white fruits, honeysuckle flowers and iodine notes which give off an impression of freshness.

This airy and delicate wine of a surprising length is characterised by high purity of taste, a long and non-saturating finish.

Laurent Perrier La Cuvee NV

This wine comes from the purest grape juice and it alone allows Laurent‑Perrier to craft “La Cuvée”, a champagne of great finesse and a beautiful freshness obtained after a long ageing process in our cellars.

A former cooper and bottler in Chigny-les-Roses, André-Michel Pierlot settled in Tours-sur-Marne in 1812 as a négociant in the wines of Champagne. It was in this village, on plots named Les Plaisances and La Tour Glorieux that he founded what was later to become Laurent-Perrier. His son, Alphonse Pierlot, succeeded him and, not having any heirs, he subsequently bequeathed the House to his cellar master, Eugène Laurent.

Following his accidental death in 1887, Eugène’s widow, Mathilde Emilie Perrier, took the helm of the business and combined her own patronymic with that of her husband, naming the business “Veuve Laurent-Perrier”. With her strong character and reputation for integrity, she developed the business, restored its finances, and masterfully kept the House going throughout the Great War. In 1889, in a contrarian move against current fashion, Laurent-Perrier launched its sugar-free “Grand Vin sans Sucre”, which was more attuned to its own preferences and those of its British customerse.

Eugénie-Hortense Laurent succeeded her mother in 1925. Hard-hit by the economic crisis between the Wars and heavily in debt, she sold the estate to Marie-Louise de Nonancourt in 1939.

ORIGINS

Like all of the domaine’s blends, the Champagne GATINOIS Brut Rosé respects and reflects the unique character of the Aÿ terroir. It is made from the “heart of the terroir” comprising 27 parcels on the 7 hectare family domaine and is a true reflection of its powerful and elegant terroir.

BLEND

This subtle and discreet rosé blend is produced from a delicate, secret combination of:

– The traditional blend of our white base wines, consisting of predominantly Pinot Noir and a touch of Chardonnay

– A red wine from “Coteaux Champenois”, produced by Gatinois in small quantities and only in very sunny years. It is made from “petits Pinots d’Aÿ” grown on the Domaine’s two oldest parcels, planted in 1954.

During the blending process, we aim to combine the freshness and festivity of a fine Champagne with the richness, elegance and structure brought by the red wine.

TASTING NOTES

Intense hue with salmon-coloured highlights. Our Grand Cru Brut Rosé displays the characteristic elegant style of Gatinois Champagnes. The nose and palate offer up a subtle bouquet of red fruit (strawberries, blackberries, cherries) and a dash of spice which evolves into lingering notes of morello cherries on the rich finish. The dosage remains discreet at 6g/l.

FOOD PAIRING

A pleasurable champagne, a champagne with heart, characterised by elegance and warmth, ideal for an impromptu aperitif with friends and perfect for gift giving. It is also excellent with food, try it paired with seared Atlantic salmon, pink on the bones, or with desserts such as a red fruit gaspacho.

Technical notes
This cuvée has all the hallmark Chardonnay finesse (35%-40%), rounded out by the ripeness of the Pinot Meunier (25-30%) and the structure of the Pinot Noir, of which 15%-18% is vinified as red wine. The addition of Pinot Noir red wine to the blend (15-18%) and a light dosage of 10g/L result in a very complete, balanced champagne.

Laurent Perrier Cuvee Rosé NV has long been the world’s biggest selling Rose Champagne, and it’s not hard to see why this has attracted such a strong following on the international stage. Produced from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, this has a bright salmon colour, complex berry aromas and an intense palate that is bursting with cherry and strawberry flavours. A top class Champagne from Laurent Perrier, this is well deserving of its title as “The Queen Of Rose Champagne”.

To create such restraint from 100% pinot noir from grand cru vineyards using the less delicate saignée method of controlled maceration is nothing short of pure genius.

Jacquart Blanc de Blanc 2012

This vintage release from Champagne Jacquart is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes. Suggestions of delicately fresh citron, star anise, iodine and lemon core on the nose. Swirling reveals fruity notes of pear, white peach, fresh grape, grapefruit and rhubarb. Point of entry on the palate is clean and fresh with creamy, soft effervescence. The palate is fleshy and crisp with minerality that is both limestone and sandy and imparts honesty, salinity and length. The finish is suffused with lemon and adds wonderfully concentrated, fleshy and deliciously saline drive.

Gosset Grand Blanc de Blanc N.V  is both mineral and floral, with aromas of flowers mixed with white fruits, apricot and Mirabelle plum. There are very light notes of lemon and other citrus fruits, crystallised quince and honey. The palate it is harmonious, complex and delicate, with great freshness. It is a crisp and well-structured champagne with a gentle silky finish. It is the perfect aperitif and is excellent paired with seafood such as scallops, crab or lobster..

The NV Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut is a clear, fresh and chalky Chardonnay from Cramant in the Côte des Blancs that opens with lovely intense and soft white fruit aromas. It is a mouth-filling, very elegant and finessed Cramant with highly digestible balance and stimulating lightness in alcohol (12%). The finish is charmingly round and fruity but also has the typical chalky texture that gives it perfect balance. This is an excellent cuvée with a delicate, salty, well-structured finish.

Gosset Grand Millesime 2012

Chardonnay 67%, Pinot Noir 33%

Vinification and traditional aging on lees avoiding any premature oxidation. Malolactic fermentation carefully avoided in order to preserve the naturally fruity aroma of the wines and to ensure perfect conservation.
Gross dosage (8 g/l) to maintain the balance between freshness, fruitiness and vinosity without masking the character of the wine and its purity.

A very fresh and expressive initial nose blending an assortment of flavors of white-fleshed fruits such as pear, peach which develops into grapefruit and even anise and liquorice.

The very fine and fleshy palate retains an extraordinary lightness throughout with aromas of small stone fruits such as plum, mirabelle and especially pear, followed by aromas of citrus fruits such as orange and pink grapefruit.The wine expresses very good length with a saline finish.

About Gosset

Established since 1584, Gosset is one of the smallest Grande Marque Champagne producers. Whilst the champagnes that they produce have never been plentiful in quantity, they have distinguished themselves with the consistently superb quality throughout the entire range of champagnes produced. Remaining a family owned house, the Gosset family sold the business to the Cointreau family in 1994.

Starting with their flagship champagne, the superbly aged Grande Reserve multi-vintage, it is clear that they have sought to exceed all standards required by the region. Firstly, and most strikingly, the presentation is remarkable in heavy dark antique bottles that are unique to Gosset. Instead of aging this champagne for 3 years on lees before bottling, Gosset have aged this blend for four and half years.
